The Complex Patient in Pediatric Practice: advancing clinical thinking through professional dialogue

Pediatrics calls for more than knowledge alone. It requires clinical judgment, attentiveness, and a continuous commitment to finding the best possible solution for every child. This is why professional forums dedicated to complex clinical cases remain so valuable.
On April 30, 2026, Kyiv hosted the Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation, “The Complex Patient in Pediatric Practice,” held in a hybrid format. The programme brought together masterclasses and expert presentations by leading Ukrainian specialists in pediatrics and pediatric subspecialties, with a strong focus on applying the principles of evidence-based medicine in everyday clinical care.
The conference was organized by a distinguished group of academic and professional institutions. Among them were two leading departments that make a significant contribution to the education and professional development of pediatricians in Ukraine: the Department of Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiology, Rheumatology and Cardiac Surgery at the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine, and the Department of Pediatrics of Postgraduate Education at Bogomolets National Medical University. The event was also supported by the Ukrainian Association of Medical Education and the Association for the Study of Childhood Diseases: Child Health – Nation’s Health, further underscoring its importance for the medical community.
