ENT-organs and respiratory tract infections: pneumonia, bronchitis, infected bronchiectasis, lung abscess, post-operative infectious complications , otitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngiti.

Urinary tract infections: pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis, asymptomatic bacteriuria, gonorrhea.

Skin and soft tissues infections: cellulitis, erysipelas and wound infections Pelvic inflammatory diseases.

Digestive tract infections: acute enteric infections, hepatobiliary system infections.

Sepsis, bacterial septicaemia, meningitis, peritonitis.

Pre- and post-operative prophylaxis against infectious complications in abdominal, pelvic, orthopaedic, cardiac, pulmonary, oesophageal and vascular surgery.

Dosage: Children: 30 - 100mg/kg/day given 3 or 4 by intravenous or intramuscular injection.

Adults: 750mg three times per day by intravenous or intramuscular injection, for more severe infections the dose should be 1500 mg three times per day.
