Proven selenium deficiency which cannot be balanced by nutrition. A selenium deficiency can occur in cases of: Maldigestion- and malabsorption disorders.

Composition

Active ingredient 1 tablet contains: Sodium selenite 5 H2O 0.333 mg (corresponds to 100 µg selenium)

Excipients

Microcrystalline cellulose, mannitol, povidone, magnesium stearate Contra-indications Selenium intoxications (selenium poisonings).

Interactions with other substances

The concurrent intake of vitamin C should be avoided, as otherwise a precipitation of elementary selenium cannot be excluded. Elementary selenium is not soluble in aqueous media and not bioavailable.

Dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed, take 1 tablet once daily.

Kind and duration of application

Cefasel® 100 µg tablets are taken without chewing with some liquid (e.g. water). The therapy should be continued until the normalisation of the selenium status (selenium in plasma 80 - 120 ng/ml, in whole blood 100 - 140 ng/ml).

Side effects

Up to now not known when used as prescribed.
