The regional scientific seminar «The conception of branch program of the system development with regard to providing the medical help to children; the problems of the paediatrics in the region» took place in Kherson on November 13, 2010 with the accent on the issues of prophy-laxis, diagnostics and treatment of respiratory tract diseases at children.

The seminar was orga-nized under the aegis of UMOH, The Health Department of Kherson city administration and the Medical College of Kherson On the seminar there were present the paediatricians working in Kherson and the Kherson area. The reports and the lectures were done by prof. Volosovets O.P., prof. Krivopustov S.P., prof. Abaturov O.E., prof. Beketova G.V. The program speech «The conception of branch program of the system development with regard to providing the medical help to children; the problems of the paediatrics in the region» done by prof. Volosovets O.P. was of a special interest for the present at the seminar. The lecture «The Flu and Children: The Issues of Epidemiology, Diagnostics, Treatment, Prophylaxis» of prof. Abaturov O.E. acquainted the audience with the prospects and possibilities of diagnostics and treatment of the flu in pediatric practice.

He emphasized the possibilities of symptomatic treatment with the combined medicinal preparation Trifed Expectorant, and also on the necessity of antibacterial therapy at presence of the flu bacterial complications. The speaker paid special attention to the possibilities of adminestering the peroral antibiotics (Zomaks, Cefutil, Cefodoks). The participants discussed the issues of the day with regard of providing the medical help to children in the region. The lecturers answered the numerous questions of the audience.
