On April, 8-9th Scientific practical conference «Modern technologies in a pediatric science, practice and formation», in commemoration of B.J.Reznik, the member of MSA of Ukraine, took place in Odessa. The general sponsor of the conference was “Megacom,ltd.”

The satellite symposium “Modern aspects of antibiotics therapy of widespread infections in pediatrics” was of a special interest of the participants.

Prof. Yury Marushko, the head of the Chair of pediatrics of the 3d National medical University named after A.Bogomolets, paid special attention to the modern aspects of antibiotics therapy at streptococcal infections: “In the practice of treating tonsillitis of a streptococcal aetiology we successfully use a preparation Leksin – a synthetic antibiotic of 1st generation cefalosporine group for oral use. This preparation is manufactured in the form of capsules and suspension with the pineapple or banana tastes that is especially convenient in pediatric practice. For studies of efficiency of the preparation we conducted a research on treating tonsillitis of a streptococcal aetiology at children of 3 till 7 on the basis of our chair. The preparation was administered in a daily dosage of 25-30 mg/kg 2 times a day for 10 days. During the course of treatment the children, intoxication symptoms disappeared, appetite improved, the volume of tonsils and glands decreased , local signs of an inflammation disappeared . Use of Leksin allowed to eradicate the pathogen practically at all patients.


Ludmila Boyarskaya, the professor of the chair of Pediatrics at the PGD of State medical University, Zaporozhje, demonstrated the peculiarities of conducting the antibacterial treatment on outpatient basis in pediatrics: “Cefutil is an effective antibacterial preparation for empirical treatment of CAP at children. Oral administration of the preparation did not demonstrate the signs of antibiotics diarrhea and of pancreas exocrine dysfunction, as well as of hepatobiliary system during the treatment and after it ”.



Tatyana Aleksandrovna Kruchko, DMS, the professor of the chair of hospital pediatrics and children infectious diseases of the Ukrainian medical stomatologic academy emphasized the expediency of graded antibacterial therapy at treatment of community acquired pneumonia. “The most modern approach to antibacterial therapy of community-acquired pneumonia is carrying out of a graded therapy. Given tactics reduces duration of parenteral antibiotic introductions, lowers the risk of nosocomial infections, development of post injection complications, reduces the duration of treatment and thus, keeps the high clinical efficiency of therapy. For today Cefodox (Cefpodaxime proxetile) and Cefix are antibacterial cefalosporines of the III generation which can be used in pediatric practice. Cefix is the most often used preparation at acute enteric infection treatment, and also at infections of urinogenital system.»
