As known, the second half of last week was marked not only with the natural cataclysms but also with the 11th Sidel'nikov's lecturing that took place in the city of Zaporozhie (17-18.12.09)

In spite of the adverse weather conditions, more than 600 doctors were present at the conference. As for the adverse weather conditions: freezing cold, deep snows, quarantine at schools, numbers of calls for the kids having high temperature, sick doctors, delayed trains, regularly breaking buses, non-heated hotels and utility enterprises that were not aware of December colds.

The satellite symposium “Cefpodoksim proksetil: three years in Ukraine” was a special interest to the present ones.

During it, the reports on Cefodox administration experience were presented.

Professor A.P. Volosovets started the symposium with the report “The clinical meaning of 3rd generation oral cefalosporins in the therapy of respiratory system of children”.

The analysis of Cefodox administration during 2006-2009 was a part of the report done by prof. S.P. Krivopustov. Prof. Boyarskaya L.N. finished the seminar with the report “Microbiological safety of Cefpodoksim proksetil for treatment children suffering from respiratory pathology”

The experience of administrating Riabal syrup was covered in the reports of prof. N.V. Nagornaya “Rational therapy of gastrointestinal disorders of children at an early age” and of prof. Yu.V. Belousov “Lipid distress-syndrome and digestive system disorders of children”

The topic of reasonable usage of 3rd generation Cefalosporin administered orally was supported in the reports by prof. Ye I. Yulish “Peculiarities of antibiotic therapy at treating respiratory infections of children at an early age in the closed surrounding of children's home ” and by prof. T.A. Kriuchko “Experience of Cefpodoksim proksetil administration in the therapy of recurrent bronchitis”

In his report “Multi-centered study of the 1st generation of Celasporin efficiency in the pediatric practice ”, prof. Yu.V. Marushko spoke on Lexin preparation administration at acute bacterial respiratory infections.

Prof. S.P. Krivopustov summarized the recommendations on practical usage of antibiotics in paediatrics in his master-class “Problem-oriented approach to the rational antibacterial therapy of respiratory diseases of children”
