Candidate of Medical Sciences, Polianskaya M.A. (F.G. Yanovsky Institute of Phtisiology and Pulmonology, Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Kiev) presented the results of the study which was carried out on the basis of the institute.
In this report the effectiveness and safety of Aerofillin and Neofillin were compared in therapy of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (stages 3, 4).
Aerofillin was more effective than the reference drug in treatment of patients with COPD, what was represented in the proved improvement of tolerance of physical activity (at the completion of the course of treatment the number of the meters walked by patients increased in fact in comparison with the initial data), improvement of the functionality – decrease of signs of lung hyperinflation (proved increase in respiratory capacity, decrease in intrathoracic gas volume, tendencies to lower airways resistance), increase in vital capacity of lungs, improvement in airways conductance (proved increase in FEV1, FVC); more expressed tendency to the reduction in dyspnea.
Aerofillin had a more expressed effect on inflammation, what became evident in proved increase in nitro blue tetrazolium reduction test (NBT-test) after the completion of the course of treatment in the group of patients, who took Aerofillin.
Aerofillin was better tolerated by the patients, no undesirable and side effects were observed during the use of this drug.
