On December 7-8, 2006 there has been held the science-practical conference “Achievements of young scientists-dermatovenerologists”. The conference was organized under support of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, National Medical Academy of Post-Graduate Education named after P.L. Shupik (NMAPGE), Administrative Board of the President of Ukraine, State Institution “Out-Patient Hospital No.1”.
The participants of this conference included young scientists-dermatovenerologists, as well as leading professionals from all over Ukraine. On behalf of conference sponsors prof. Kalyuzhnaya L.D., Chairman of the Department of Dermatovenerology of the NMAPGE named after P.L. Shupik, greeted all those present on the conference. On behalf of the Institute of Dermatology and Venerology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine prof. Mavrov G.I. noted that this conference is a legal successor and continuator of prime traditions of young scientists’ school held in USSR. At this conference young scientists have an opportunity not only to be present at the reports of leading scientists in the field of dermatovenerology, but also to demonstrate the results of their own research works and to participate in discussions together with their tutors.
It is worth noting that the reports presented at the conference highlighted different aspects of clinical dermatovenerology. Prof. Mavrov G.I. devoted his report to the prevention of iatrogenic complications during the therapy of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Prof. Kutasevich Y.F., Chairman of the Department of Dermatovenerology of the Institute of Dermatology and Venerology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, shared her experience as to the use of Fusiderm in the therapy of pyodermas and acne disease. Prof. Aizyatulov R.F. reported on immunomodulating therapy in the treatment of papillomatous and other infections of urogenital tract. Prof. Kalyuzhnaya L.D. drew attention to the principles of skin care for atopic dermatitis in her report. In the reports of young scientists there also were highlighted different aspects of dermatovenerology.
