On October 19-20, 2006 the science-practical conference “Diagnostics and treatment standards in dermatovenerology as a step to the implementation of formulary system into medical practice”, organized by Ukrainian association of dermatovenerologists and cosmetologists and O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University, has been held in Kherson, hotel “Fregat” located on the picturesque bank of the Dnieper.

 Around 200 dermatovenerologists from different regions of Ukraine and more than 15 pharmaceutical manufacturers took part in the work of this conference.

Vivid interest of the participants was aroused by the satellite workshop of Megacom “Fusiderm – a new look at old problems”. Prof. Kutasevich Yanina Frantsevna, Chairman of the Department of Dermatovenerology of the Institute of Dermatovenerology and Cosmetology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine emphasized the particularity of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of fusidic acid (active substance of Fusiderm ointment and cream) in her report “New alternatives in the treatment of bacterial skin infections”.

Yanina Frantsevna also noted that Fusiderm (cream and ointment) is a highly effective remedy for topic therapy of bacterial skin lesions, acne disease, as well as dermatosis of non-contagious nature, complicated with pyococcus infection.

Prof. Kutasevich emphasized that it is possible to use Fusiderm in cases of bacterial strains resistance towards generally accepted antibiotics, as well as to use the product even for the treatment of the states that are not accompanied by skin lesions due to highly penetrating potential of fusidic acid.

Fusiderm does not have sensitizing and local-irritating characteristics; therefore the product can be widely used in the treatment of allergodermatosis complicated with pyococcus infection.

In his report prof. Dyudyun Anatoly Dmitrievich, Department of Dermatovenerology of Dnepropetrovsk state medical academy, highlighted the specificity of the use of Fusiderm-B cream (fusidic acid and betamethasone).

In particular, Anatoly Dmitrievich underlined that Fusiderm-B exerts good therapeutic effect in the treatment of allergodermatosis and other dermatosis of contagious nature and can be recommended for wider application in clinical practice.

Upon completion of the conference, the lottery drawing of valuable prizes (DVD-player, electric kettle, fan heater) was performed among the participants; in addition each physician received a sample of Fusiderm.
